Copyright Ownership

Authors who publish in ADILARA: Journal of Law, Justice and Legal Reform retain copyright in their published work.

Authors grant ADILARA the right of first publication and permission to publish, distribute, preserve, and make the article publicly available as part of the journal's scholarly record.

Open Access License

Unless otherwise stated, articles published in ADILARA are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

Under this license, users may:

  • Read;
  • Download;
  • Copy;
  • Distribute;
  • Print;
  • Search;
  • Link to;
  • Adapt; and
  • Reuse published articles for lawful purposes,

provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author or authors and the original publication in ADILARA is properly acknowledged.

Author Rights

Authors are permitted to:

  1. Share their published articles;
  2. Deposit published articles in institutional repositories;
  3. Use their articles for teaching and academic purposes;
  4. Include their articles in academic portfolios;
  5. Use portions of the work in future scholarly publications with appropriate acknowledgement; and
  6. Distribute the Version of Record with complete citation information.

Third-Party Material

Authors are responsible for obtaining appropriate permission for copyrighted material owned by third parties.

Any third-party material that is not covered by the article's Creative Commons license must be clearly identified.

Author Responsibility

Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts do not unlawfully infringe copyright, privacy, intellectual property, or other rights.

The journal may remove or correct content when a valid copyright or legal concern is established.

Website Copyright

Copyright relating to the journal website, logo, layout, and other publisher-owned materials is separate from the copyright and license applicable to individual scholarly articles.
